April 25th, 2008 by aburrow

The Angelina Arts Alliance is proud to announce the faculty for its popular summer theater program, Camp CenterStage, on the Angelina College campus June 9-21.  Now entering its sixth year, enrollments are continuing for this all-day camp that encourages young people to learn theatre skills in a fun and supportive atmosphere, while under the guidance of an experienced theatre faculty.

The camp faculty is composed of theatre educators and professionals from a variety of backgrounds.  Camp CenterStage founder and former director of the Angelina College theatre program, Pat Baldwin, will direct the camp again this year.  Also returning are Don Glenn (award-winning playwright and actor), Teresa Ragland (Mike Moses Middle School voice and dance instructor), Brent Rich (Lufkin Middle School theatre instructor) and Joy Cunningham (Austin-area actor and playwright).  This year, in addition to the returning instructors, Camp CenterStage also brings in guest faculty from outside the area, including SFA alum and Dallas-area technical theatre guru, David Fleming.  Jenna Knapik, from the youth theatre program at U.T. Austin, also joins the camp faculty. St. Louis theatre instructor, Cliff Turner, rounds out this stellar group of teachers and professionals.  Additionally, seven Angelina College theatre students will serve as faculty assistants during the camp.

Camp CenterStage, (campers entering 5th-7th grade) and CenterStage Academy (campers entering 8th-10th grade) are currently accepting enrollments.  Hours for Camp CenterStage are from 9 am to 3 pm M-F.  CenterStage Academy ends at 4 pm.  Early drop-off and late pick-up are available.  Tuition for the camps is $225 for each two-week session.  Scholarships are available.  Camp CenterStage and CenterStage Academy are generously underwritten by the T.L.L.
