"LETTER: Thanks for hospitality Ron Hufford, executive director, Texas Forestry Association The Lufkin News

On behalf of the Texas Forestry Association members, I would like to express our sincere appreciation for the hospitality and warm welcome our members received at the 100-Year Anniversary Celebration held at the Pitser Garrison Convention Center this past week. Lufkin rolled out the red carpet for the 525 members who attended the TFA Centennial Celebration. Attendees included professional foresters, logging contractors, forest product companies, as well as forest landowners and businesses that provide services to the forestry community. While some of the attendees were from Angelina and the East Texas timber counties, many traveled great distances coming from over 12 states that included California, Oregon, Illinois, Florida and Virginia.

I would like to commend the city for the assistance provided from the convention services of the Lufkin Convention & Visitors Bureau and the staff and director of the convention center. Lufkin is fortunate to have a dedicated and professional staff that know how to prepare the facility and assist organizations with meeting planning. Our events were met with enthusiasm and attention to the many meeting details during the pre-meeting planning process, as well as the entire three days of the meeting.

The newly remodeled and expanded facilities met all of our expectations. Based on our positive experience I believe that Lufkin will continue to attract large conventions due in part from the support that lies within this great community and the professional staff that is ready and willing to bring large conventions to our city.

This three-day meeting was a major event in the history of our association and I am proud of Lufkin, the Convention & Visitors Bureau, the media and the food services that made our meeting a truly memorable event.

The comments and feedback into our office following the meeting are a clear sign that the meeting was successful and a positive experience.

Thanks Lufkin!"

"I can't thank you enough for all you did to make the concert such a huge success. Everyone at The Pines were so kind and attentive. No matter how much we plan ahead, many times we are scrambling to get things setup at the last minute. That was not the case at The Pines. From the moment we arrived, we felt so cared for. The accommodations and stage setup were perfect.  The acoustics were incredible! Mark Henderson from Sound Tech was great to work with  — very knowledgeable and helpful.  And the audience... I could not get over the energy in the room — they were so excited and complimentary.

Tara, thank you again for inviting us to your beautiful theater and making us feel so welcome.

Many blessings to you and the City of Lufkin." — Heather DeShazo, Assistant to Sandi Patty-  Church of the Servant
"You are a standard for other Texas communities."
"What a wonderful community Lufkin is. I recently traveled there to meet with Corporate officials in charge of Brookshire Brothers. God Bless Texas."
"On behalf of the TLFFRA Education Conference Foundation, I want to thank you for helping make the recent TLFFRA Conference so successful.  When you represented us in the "bid" for this conference in September 2012, it seemed so long ago, and now with your help, creativity and contacts we have had a successful conference.

Your ideas and knowledge in conference coordinating is extraordinaire and the City of Lufkin is fortunate to have you as the LCVB Director.  We received excellent comments on the quality and taste of the meals, table decorations and the Monday evening Fireman's Bistro and entertainment were certainly something differenct than the conference attendees had ever experienced.

Thank you seems idadequate, however, I do mean it -- THANK YOU for being on our team!" ---- Jimmy Ragsdale, Chairman, Lufkin Fireman's Relief and Retirement Fund
I just wanted to again Thank You and all involved for the hospitality shown us while we were in Lufkin. Just a quick note of thanks for all of your hard work in organizing and conducting a great annual meeting last week for TCAAA.  My family and I enjoyed our trip as well as our stay in Lufkin.  The fishing tournament, youth activities, agent program, ANR tour, and family activities were all great.  My youngest boy, Weston, said that the Magician / Comedian guy was “hilarious”.   The band was awesome.

We had a memorable trip, and we appreciate all of the hospitality that was extended to the TCAAA members and families.
