All participants will need to pick up their registration packet Friday, June 4th from 9:00am until 6:00pm at The Chamber of Commerce Offices – 1615 South Chestnut, Lufkin, TX 75901. Packets will also be available at North Boggy Slough on Saturday beginning at 7:30am.

All participants will need to check in once they arrive at North Boggy Slough to receive a “Paddle Pass” – this is what is used to identify each canoe/kayak and its participants during the event. A meal ticket will be given to each participant once they finish paddling the Neches River and return their pass to the registration table.

From Lufkin – take 103 West (toward Crockett). Once merged with Highway 7, go approximately 1 mile past the merge – North Boggy Slough will be on the left hand side of the highway.

Please park at North Boggy Slough. There will be a FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE to and from the river.

A wonderful meal is provided at the conclusion of the canoe trip. Each participant will be given a meal ticket after returning from the Neches River, and when the “Paddle Pass” is turned in. This meal ticket entitles the participant to one meal. Additional meal tickets can be purchased in advance.

Canoe rental is the participant’s responsibility. Rentals are limited and will not be available at the event.

The Neches River Rendezvous is limited to 300 participants. The Chamber recommends your entry form and payment be sent as soon as possible!

All entry forms must be postmarked by May 14th for EARLY REGISTRATION.

Canoe registration ($30) covers up to 3 people per canoe, 2 meal tickets, and 2 t-shirts. After May 14th – late registration is ($35).

Kayak registration ($25) covers up to 3 people per canoe, 2 meal tickets, and 2 t-shirts. After May 14th – late registration is ($30).

This event is moderately strenuous. Participation in the 10-mile canoe trip may consist of, but not be limited to: climbing up and down steep slopes, potential portage around obstructions in the river, and paddling. Temperatures are generally very warm in East Texas this time of year with highs reaching the 90ºF+ mark. Please evaluate your physical condition prior to this activity and use common sense and caution while participating in this event!

We require all participants to wear a life jacket/vest throughout the entire trip, as well as obey all laws and regulations by local, Texas, and US Government. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Absolutely no alcohol is allowed!

All camping or lodging arrangements are up to each individual.

A few miles west of the put-in site, you will find Ratcliff Lake Recreation Area. It is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Check in and payment is done on site. (936) 655-2299.
